Mario Nievera, principal of Mario Nievera Design Incorporated, provides landscape architecture and design services for residential, corporate, institutional and commercial clients in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.

Based in Palm Beach, Florida, Nievera received his landscape architecture degree from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, in 1987. In 1995, he returned to Purdue as a visiting professor of design. Prior to starting his own firm, Nievera worked as a principle in the Boston and Palm Beach offices of the landscape architecture firm Morgan Wheelock Incorporated. Nievera divides his time between residences in Palm Beach, New York City and East Hampton.

Past and on-going projects include multiple projects in: Palm Beach, Hobe Sound, North Palm Beach, Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, Vero Beach, Miami, and Coral Gables, Florida; Lyford Cay, Nassau, Bahamas; Newport, Rhode Island; Greenwich and New Canaan, Connecticut; Stowe, Vermont; Wainscott, Bronxville, Larchmont and Kings Point, New York; and Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Nievera’s work has been featured in numerous publications, such as Architectural Digest, “W”, Southern Accents, House & Garden, The New York Times, Departures, Town & Country, Quest, and the Palm Beach Daily News.
