She has spoken on the subject of outdoor kitchen design at the 2007 Pool and Spa Show in Orlando, and the 2007 Hearth, Patio, Barbecue Association show in Reno, as well as at the Maine chapter of the National Kitchen and Bath Association.
Her previous book was the 2003 James Beard Award-winning The Flavors of Olive Oil, which was also a finalist for the Jacob’s Creek International Cookbook Award (and the ONLY American book in the running). She has written pieces for Eating Well and Vegetarian Times.
Her previous cookbook was From Celtic Hearths: Baked Goods of Scotland, Ireland and Wales, a close look at traditional pastry.
Krasner’s most recent venture is hosting culinary vacations in both Vermont and Italy, focusing on artisanal food producers and local foods in each venue. The vacations in Italy are housed on notable olive oil estates in Sicily and Tuscany, while the Vermont vacations take place in her renovated barn. Her Vermont Culinary Vacation website is culinaryvermont.com and the Italian Culinary Vacations can be found on her website italyonaplate.com. The culinary programs have been featured in GQ, and Bon Appetit, as well as The Boston Globe.
Krasner is a regular on Public Radio International's weekly food show The Splendid Table with Lynne Rossetto Kasper, where she discusses food and kitchen design. Her articles have appeared in such magazines as Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, The Wine Enthusiast, and Real Simple magazine.
A celebrated kitchen designer and the author of the best-selling IACP Award Finalist Kitchens for Cooks, Krasner designed Marcella Hazan's kitchen in Florida, which has been featured in Food&Wine, House Beautiful, Woman's Day Kitchen and Bath, and Saveur. She creates kitchens coast to coast, consults for architects, and answers questions via her website kitchensforcooks.net. Her articles on kitchen equipment have appeared in Food & Wine and in Parade. Her own kitchen was featured in Home magazine.
Krasner also wrote Heirloom Skills and Country Pastimes and Celtic: Design and Style in Homes of Scotland, Ireland, and Wales. She lives with her husband in a renovated eighteenth century hay barn in southern Vermont.
